The Bear Creek Hollow Neck Artist/Collectors Edition is based on the Style 4 Weissenborn Steel Guitar. It can be made from a variety of exotic tonewoods, such as Honduran Rosewood, African Mahogany, Sapele, Avodire-an amazing tonewood- and the traditional Hawaiian Koa. The AC is braced with aged Sitka Spruce, which is machine fit to a precise radius, to create an elegant arch on the top and back. This guitar is bound with the traditional ‘rope’ binding, which I make from alternating diagonals of Rosewood and Beech or Maple. It has Style 4 Mother-of-Pearl inlays, and a beautiful high gloss, lacquer finish.
