Aloha, and welcome to the Bear Creek Guitars website.

We make and sell custom Ukuleles and Hawaiian acoustic steel guitars, styled after the guitars by Herman Weissenborn in the 1920's. These guitars are played with a steel bar, often feature a "hollowneck", and are tuned to an open chord, similar to slack key tuning. Click on "guitars and ukuleles" in the menu bar for more info.

Our company consists of Bill Hardin, a master luthier with over 25 years experience in guitarmaking. His wife, BJ, assists with the business. We believe that our instruments are the finest of their kind, and each one is truly a work of art. They are hand crafted-one at a time-here on the Island of Maui in Hawaii.

Our customers come to us from all over the world, and from all music genres-including blues, rock, bluegrass, as well as Hawaiian music. Our goal is to build each of them the guitar of their dreams. How about you?
